On AUGUST 17, 1985, the leaders of the

Australian Socialist Workers Party (SWP)

decided to break with the Fourth International.

This decision came after several years of debate in which political and organizational differences continued to deepen. In response to this challenge to the programmatic gains and perspectives of our movement, in the following special edition of International
